How You Perform Masking Designing India

This is an article that let you know about how to add some fading effects through which you call it as Masking. Usually when you design web pages you may desire to add images to provide more images to have more effective to your pages. By providing such feel to your pages it will give a professional look to the pages. To make this effective read and practice as instructed steps by steps, you will get a nice image effect, called image masking.

1. Open an image. You can choice any color for the background. Here I have taken as white. Then Go to Modify / Canvas/Canvas color...; Change it into as per your choice of color.
This is my image with no effects.


2. Make a rectangle with the rectangle tool from the toolbar (img: 1) on that image and cover the image with the rectangle. Here I taken white as my rectangle color (img: 2).

I have made a rectangle and moving it to fix on the image which is shown below.

3. Again select the rectangle with help of mouse and from the properties window, select the Fill Category as Linear. You may perform this action by selecting from the droop down menu.

Click on and you change the preset, black. This is important as if you want to provide the fading effect in which side of the image.
4. Now you may increase the fading effect gradually so I drag the line that is on the rectangle such as the below:


5. Now press ctrl + A to select all, after which you can navigate from the Fireworks top menu to, Modify > Mask> Group as mask.


6. Now you able the get this effect on the image,

7. you may provide more effects by adjusting the fading level, in the properties window.

In Dream weaver you can used this image and added it in a table. I have illustrated an example to make you understand and try it to make your more confident.
