IT Project Management at WebDhoom

Project Management requires the total knowledge of the application, skills tools and techniques to project activities in order to meet or exceed stakeholder requirement and expectations from the project.”

The success of any project depends on the start of the project that requires critical and conceptual thinking. A project can be conceived as a continuous binding of chain of achievements that begins from the starting to end of the project. The over all success of the project is the last achievement what we get as a result.

At WebDhoom , project manager plans and monitors projects to accomplish goals within predictable quality, cost and time. We are dedicated to build and deliver solutions that surpass customer expectations using well-defined, reliable, flexible, economical and adaptable processes from end-to-end in our business cycles.

Project management process requires:

Initiation and definition phase:

In this phase problem is recognized, existing solutions are studied, potential solutions determined and a project brief is created in this stage. Project manger makes a decision with project senior leader to outsource or work on the project internally. What may be the case, the service provider and the team members are then identified.

The project scope identifies the vision and the end-results of the project. The detail information is then gathered like target customer, technology outlining, staffing and risks, budget and schedule. A proposal document is then created as a detailed proposal for meeting project needs. After finalizing the project documentation and getting approval from the client, negotiation goes on and then a contract is signed and a team is selected that have long experience from on similar projects. A project plan is then developed. It contains an explanation of the project management activities that will be necessary for the execution and control of the project.

Roles of a project leader/manager include:

Outsourcing Project Management

The project leader/manager has responsibilities to develop an atmosphere of a cooperative and effective team culture. He also needs to identify and teach the team members about the security of the project. Determining where the requisite staff can be obtained and recruit the staff and distribute the roles and responsibilities of each team member, how they communicate with each other and build the necessary rapport, undergo training if necessary, resolve conflicts and monitor performance levels are necessary to ensure the effectiveness of the team.

Communication Management:

Responsibilities of the project manger to communication and provide status report of the project between all the stakeholders and the project team, is imperative as it ensures that the stakeholders gain. The status report of the project is sent on weekly basis or monthly basis as the demand of the stakeholders including the risks involved, the schedule and the budget status in a documented format.

Risk Management:

The project plan generally needs a risk plan that defines the strategies and methods used to identify and avoid risks throughout the life cycle of the project. Here all kinds of risks are defined – business risks that are connected with the nature of the work done or the client and the target audience, risks within the project and the team environment and technical risks involved with the system of the application.

Configuration Management:

Due to changing requirement of the projects during the development phase, many versions and files are building during the project and thus increasing the number of versions and components of the product. So it is important to recognize and track these versions and document how any changes made to these documents will be handled and reported.

Quality Management:

The final evaluation and testing is measured on the basis of the final deliverable in a project if it adheres to appropriate standards. It does not mean that quality of the project should be measured at the end of the project, it should be tracked from the staring of the project development and in every phase of the web Development it must be ensured that the development is progressing on requirement of the clients and the environment. A quality management plan is developed and followed at the beginning of the project and a quality check representative is assigned to a project at the beginning of the project.

Quality assurance entails that the project and its different phases are constantly tracked and evaluated.
